Ash flooring

Ash floorboards, stocked widths do vary but we normally try to keep stocks of 162mm & 182mm face. Board length also varies, but board lengths are normally around 2.4 metres. Ash boards are very hard, they are very durable making them ideal for high traffic areas. Light in colour the boards become slightly darker over time, the attractive & distinctive grain contrast is accentuated by the application of Treatex hard wax oils.

Oak - character

Character kiln dried oak flooring, the variety of lengths usually in the range 2.1m to 3.6m and sometimes longer. Widths range usually 112mm-212mm, boards will feature some knots & colour variations. Oak is very durable and timeless - it seems to survive changes in interior fashion - it also blends in with old & new properties. Colour variations can be implemented reasonably easily by using a combination of Treatex coloured & clear oil/wax floor finishes.

Oak - prime boards

Prime oak boards feature less knots and burring than our character floorboards. There will still be colour variation between different boards as would be expected with any natural product. Within the Prime oak grade there will be some boards with knots but in general they will require less finishing than character boards. Allowances must still be made for wastage particularly if you wish to cut the boards to minmise the number of knots.

Oak - pre-finished lacquered

Pre-finished lacquered oak flooring is supplied in convenient packs of boards which are T&G on all four sides to make fixing easier. Each pack of approx. 2.0 sq. metres contains pre-finished boards which usually vary between 450mm (18") and 1.2m (4'). Because the boards are lacquered in the factory there is no further finishing required but care must be taken not to scratch the floor with chair legs etc.

Oak - pre-finished oiled

Each pack of approx. 2.0 sq. metres contains pre-finished boards which usually vary between 450mm (18") and 1.2m (4'). Because the boards are oiled in the factory there is no further finishing required but we recommend a coat of Treatex hard wax/oil for extra protection

Walnut pre-finished

Walnut pre-finished flooring is durable with a variety of rich reddy-brown colours and has a lacquer protected surface. Each pack of approx. 2.0 sq. metres contains pre-finished boards which usually vary between 450mm (18") and 1.2m (4'). Because the boards are lacquered in the factory there is no further finishing required but care must be taken not to scratch the floor with chair legs etc.

Oak skirting & mouldings

Oak skirting, architave and mouldings are available in a variety of sizes from stock. Bulnose, ogee, torus are stocked along with oak dowel, door stop, scotia, quadrant and door linings which provide flexibility of finishing. Other mouldings are stocked to help join flooring areas to carpet, lino and tile surfaces. Treatex hard wax/oil hybrid finishes are ideal for protecting the finished article.
