Our yard at Ipplepen is 2.5 acres in size and is devoted to timber – we have no cutting facilities onsite so we can maximise our storage space. We do keep large quantities of round and square posts in our yard ready, but customers travelling from afar are always recommended to contact us about current stocks.

Round posts are stocked from 106mm half-rounds at 1.68 metres to 200mm posts and sometimes more. Almost all round posts are now machine rounded to provide a better finish and also to maximise penetration of the Tanalith preservative.

Square sawn posts are kept in large quantities, especially the 75mm & 100mm posts. Larger section posts in longer lengths are often machined from structurally graded timber and these can usually be graded to order where required providing we are contacted first as to your exact requirements.

Posts - rounds & stakes

Most rounds up to, and including 2.13 metres, have pencil points. Longer lengths will have chamfered or flat ends. All our round posts are pressure treated and most are now machine rounded which gives a better appearance than peeled, plus the preservative penetrates further into the post than on posts with bark cover.

Posts - square 75mm & 100mm

We offer a range of 75mm and 100mm sawn posts which are all pressure treated to increase their operational life. They are most commonly used in fencing applications but can be used in a wide range of applications. Planed redwood posts and planed hardwood are also available, they are described elsewhere on the website.

Posts - square 125mm +

We offer larger section posts - 125mm, 150mm, 175mm & 200mm - in assorted lengths, some up to 4.8 metres from stock. Larger lengths can be ordered, we have supplied treated posts up to 7.2 metres in length; untreated posts of 10 metres. For anybody wanting a smoother finish we also carry 125mm & 150mm planed posts in our Ipplepen yard.
