Carcassing - 75mm timbers
Carcassing - 75mm timbers
Pressure treatment & sizes stocked
All Southern Timber 75mm timbers are pressure treated to a minimum Hazard Class 3 to minimise any deterioration from damp whether their destination is internal building structures or subjected to permanent external exposure. Stock sizes range from 75mm x 100mm up to 75mm x 225mm – larger dimensions are available to order in pack quantities.
Baltic stocks
The main range of 75mm timber is Baltic stock, regularised, kiln dried and graded at the sawmills to BS4978 strength classes C16 and C24. Most of these timbers have a smoother planed finish than traditional sawn carcassing and very often have pencil-round rather than square edges. Large quantities are kept in stock, pricing is competitive and enquiries are welcomed for pack quantities.
Home grown stock
Baltic timber stocks are supplemented with some fuller sized, timbers from the UK and are normally supplied as Grade C16. These timbers have a more traditional finish with square edges and most popular sizes are kept in stock.
Home grown stock can usually be obtained to order from un-seasoned timber in lengths of up to 8.5 metres, ideal for bespoke agricultural buildings. These timbers can be graded by our Trada certificated visual stress grader, but it is vital when ordering to specify any grading requirements.
Comprehensive stocks
Large quantities of all 75mm timbers are kept as standard stock in the main yard with back-up stocks kept in the bulk storage area in the bottom yard.
