Pine - redwood flooring

Redwood pine boards represent an affordable solid floor option, the boards are imported sawn and kiln-dried, then machined in the UK. When finished, with either hard-wax or lacquer these boards look very attractive and will wear well in comparison to a carpeted surface. However, it must be remembered that the pine surface is not so durable as a hardwood.

The boards are supplied tongue and grooved on two sides and are referred to as ex-150mm width, the face size being 132mm for quantity calculations. Stock lengths are normally 3.6 metres and 4.8 metres but other lengths occasionally find their way from Russia into the Southern Timber store! All boards are 20mm thick.

The boards are kiln-dried at source down to 10%-12% moisture content but to minimise movement it is recommended that the boards are stored on-site for at least 14 days prior to laying.
