Walnut pre-finished

These pre-finished boards provide a quick and easy solution for laying an attractive and hardwearing floor in a lacquered finish. Walnut is very durable and the wood is characterised by dark browns of heartwood with medium brown streaks of sapwood. The boards are steamed as part of the manufacturing process to provide a more uniform blending of colours. Each pack will show a variation of colours, providing an overall mix of rich, dark shades.

This Walnut has been tongue & grooved on all four sides and supplied in packs of variable lengths, minimum 450mm and maximum 1.2 metres. The boards are 18mm thick and 120mm wide, and while carefully machined the specification allows for a variation of 1mm in height and 2mm in width. Any variations in fitting are minimised by the micro-bevelled edges around the boards.

Pre-finished boards normally exhibit less movement than unfinished boards, but it is still recommended that the boards are stored on-site before laying.

As with all lacquered flooring care must be taken with sharp objects such as high heels, chair and table legs - they can scratch or dent the floor, wherever possible protect the floor by fixing felt or rubber pads under items being sat upon or dragged across the floor. This particularly important in high traffic areas - entrance halls and corridors - the floor may benefit from extra protection such as a mat.
