Cedar Shiplap
Cedar Shiplap
The Shiplap profile is machined so that each board partially overlaps the adjoining board allowing for dimensional movement and the boards contour encourages water to run off quickly.
Southern Timber supplies cedar shiplap of grade “No. 2 Clear & Better” Western Red Cedar. This grade means that only minor imperfections are allowed and the boards are very stable and naturally insect & rot resistant.
Boards are ex 22mm x 150mm and finish at 17mm thick with a cover of 134mm. Board lengths are variable but the majority are in the range of 3.6m to 3.9m (12’ to 13’). As with all cedar the colour from board to board varies from a pale pink to a richer reddy colour. Boards should be fixed with stainless steel or bronze alloy fixings – the natural tannins in the board will corrode iron, galvanised and aluminium fixings.
In addition to our shiplap we have ex.22mm x 100mm and ex.22mm x 150mm square edge boards plus cedar TGV, cedar shingles and some ex.47mm x 75mm framing in stock.
