Featheredge gates

These are our most popular garden gates, made to blend in with featheredge fences as closely as possible. All materials used are of the same high quality as our normal fencing products.

Our featheredge gates are ledged and braced using pressure treated 47mm x 100mm structurally graded timber. The featheredge slats are 150mm for 1.8m gates and 125mm wide for smaller gates to match the materials supplied for the fences themselves. The gates have capping at the top, partly for appearance but primarily to protect the top edge of the slats.

Featheredge gates are stocked as 1.8m high x 0.9m wide (approx. 6’ x 3’); 1.2m high x 0.9m wide (approx. 4’ x 3’); and 0.9m high x 0.9m wide (approx. 3’ x 3’). Different sized gates can be made to order, we can also cut a gentle domed shape top along the top edge of the gate. A comprehensive range of gate furniture – e.g. T-hinges, padlocks and latches is kept in stock.
