Posts - rounds & stakes

The quality of round posts has improved over the last few years, most posts are now machine rounded rather than peeled – the peeled posts were usually irregular with lots of bark on them.

This means that post sizes has also "changed" – instead of stocking the 3”-4” round posts we now carry 88mm posts (3.5”) which are much more uniform in size. Similarly the 2”-3” peeled posts have been replaced by the 73mm machined.

All of our posts are pressure treated and our standard products are pressure treated with Tanalith E preservative. This treatment gives the timber a hint of green which mellows, but most importantly provides protection against fungal and insect attack.

Approx. post sizes are: 73mm = 3"; 88mm = 3.5"; 100mm = 4"; 125/128mm = 5"; 150mm = 6"; 160mm = 5.5" and 175-200mm = 7"-8"
