Shingles - Western Red Cedar

Western Red Cedar Shingles make an ideal roofing material. These shingles are lightweight, aesthetically pleasing and practical. After weathering they will adopt a pleasant silvery grey shade. Cedar is naturally insect & rot resistant requiring no further treatment and sourced from sustainable forests in Western Canada.

We now concentrate on stocking No.1 Blue Label Certigrade Western Red Cedar Shingles. The Blue Label grade ensures that all cedar shingles are made from cedar that is 100% heartwood, 100% edge grain and 100% clear. Red Label cedar shingles tend to curl and are not so suitable for roofing applications.

Suitable fixings are 30/32mm annular ring nails in stainless steel or copper. Under no circumstances should galvanised, bright steel or aluminium fixings be used. Each shingle should be fixed with two nails. As a rule of thumb 1kg of nails will be required for every 4 bundles of shingles
