Weed control fabric

This landscape fabric can be used in a wide variety of ways, the most obvious being as a weed suppressant underneath timber decking. It can also be used behind garden retainers to help prevent soil creep, help drainage and keep different ground materials apart.

At Southern Timber we stock Feltex weed control fabric which is a very reasonably priced product. The fabric is black, woven and is tough and tear resistant in normal use. For use as a weed suppresant it should be topped with 50mm of pea shingle or 100mm of a mulch of bark or woodchips.

Weed control fabric is designed specifically for use in garden beds and borders beneath a mulch of bark or other mulch material and it acts as a barrier to weeds while preventing the loss of mulch material into the soil. colour.
