Bead and Beat, a classic timber profile
This profile was introduced to provide an alternative internal cladding option to the ex 16mm x 100mm redwood TGV board. The extra width makes this untreated cladding more sited to larger expanses of cladding than ex-100mm cladding boards.
These boards are machined from ex 16mm x 150mm kiln dried redwood and this traditional profile is often found in late Victorian and Edwardian properties. The finished thickness of these Scandinavian redwood boards is approx. 11.5mm. Board lengths are usually in the 3.6 metre (< 12') to 3.9 metre (just under 13') range
Applications include wall and partition cladding, joinery in wardrobe backs and kitchen cupboards. The boards should be allowed to adjust to interior moisture levels for at least seven days before use. They can be finished with oils, stains, varnishes or paint.
Also normally available from stock we have an English Oak bead and butt, ex. 125mm.
