Product Details

Ensele is a brush applied, water based end grain timber preservative for treating the exposed cross-cut, notched or drilled surfaces of any Tanalith pressure treated timber.  This is essential to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the pressure treated timber against fungal and insect attack.

Always follow the instructions on the tin in case the specification and usage of the product changes. At the time of writing (December 2015) the instructions require the thickened liquid to be stirred well and it must not be diluted.  Earlier tins of Ensele had a strong blue colour, the later formulations are grey and have very little perceptible odour.

Ensele has a shelf life of 18 months in original sealed cans, when stored away from extremes of temperature. Protect product from freezing. Once opened any tin of Ensele should be used within 6 months. Ensele is for use with Tanalith E pressure treated timber that has an initial light green colouration and should be applied by brush liberally, excess treatment should be wiped from timber faces with a damp cloth and the timber end grain allowed to dry.  After the timber has dried a second coat should be applied.

After treatment the brush should be “brushed” on waste timber to remove any excess treatment, then wiped clean before washing with water. Although Ensele is now more environmentally friendly it is important to refer to the tin for disposal details on cloths and unused product or brush washings.
