Cabin Style & Appearance
The Home Office Director Log Cabin is available in three sizes, this page describes the 4m x 3m version. Contemporary in style this attractive cabin features four opening windows and double doors making it useful for a home office, information point, small business, entertaining, craftwork, studying or a combination of family requirements.

Cabin Construction
The Director log cabin uses interlocking tongue & groove wall cladding/logs for the walls, with a choice of 28mm, 34mm or 44mm log thicknesses.  For the interior a 19mm thick tongue & groove board is used for floor construction. There are options for single glazing or double glazing (extra cost) depending on budget.

Access to the cabin includes locking double doors and four large glazed windows provide extra light for the interior.  When considering the location of the cabin it is important to leave sufficient external space for cabin maintenance.

The cabin uses traditional 19mm TGV boards for the roof, which is supplied with a quality mineral roof felt, or if preferred there is an option to purchase heavy duty felt shingles

As with all timber buildings it is vitally important that the building is placed on a prepared concrete base or UC4 pressure treated timber bearers to ensure the cabin timbers are not in direct ground contact.   More details are in the building assembly instructions.

Director Cabin Dimensions

Supplied Finish & Painting
All these log cabins are made from untreated tongue and groove pine timber, all the timbers in this new cabin should be treated with wood preserver (not supplied) preferably before assembly.  This is particularly important with the underside of the TGV floor. When choosing your wood preserver verify if it is suitable for both exterior use and with planed (as opposed to sawn) timber.
