Buxton Log Cabin Style & Appearance
The Buxton is a traditional styled log cabin. The cabin is fitted with one opening window and two part glazed double doors to the front. There is also a 900mm roof overhang for wind and sun protection
Firstly, the Buxton log cabin is an ample 4 metres by 3 metres and is constructed using 34mm machined logs. These are smooth planed logs which are machined into a six-sided profile to improve protection against UK weather conditions.
The cabin is fitted with one opening window which is double glazed along with both doors. Both doors are fitted with a mortise lock. Both the cabin floor and roof are constructed using 19mm tongue and groove (TGV) boards. The building is supplied with rectangular green felt roof shingles.
It is vitally important that the log cabin is placed on pressure treated bearers to ensure the timbers are not in ground contact. These bearers are included as part of the log cabin kit. More details are contained in the building assembly instructions, which can be downloaded as a pdf from this page.

All the timber in this Log Cabin has been kiln dried to minimise warping and splitting. The floor bearers are also pressure treated with an Osmose timber preservative. The rest of the structure is supplied untreated therefore allowing the customer to choose their preferred brand and colours. We stock Osmo, Liberon and Ronseal products to treat products accordingly. When selecting your timber treatment finish you will find some low-priced finishes are for sawn timber only. Consequently ensure your chosen finish is suitable for use with planed and sawn timber where required.
