Stainless Steel Nails
Stainless Steel is a non ferrous metal so is unlikely to react with the natural tanins found in hardwoods which is a common issue when fixing Cedar. We have always recommended stainless steel nails for fixing Cedar Shingles, we stock a variety of lengths in 1kg bags as listed below.
A2 grade stainless steel is the most common grade of stainless steel available and is perfectly suitable to most situations with the exception of coastal or marine applications where we would strongly advise the use of A4/marine grade stainless steel, at the moment A4 grade fixings are limited to screws.
We pride ourselves on stocking the best quality products possible. A4/316 marine grade Stainless Steel is about the most weather resistant material that you can get.
