Decking End Grain Protector

Ronseal Decking End Grain Protector offers a high water protection for newly cut deckboard ends. Simply apply two coats (see below) to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the pressure treated decking against fungal and insect attack.  Anybody cutting Premier Decking must use this product to maintain Treatright Decking Warranty. We also plan to stock Endseal when it is released to the UK market in late 2019

Application of End grain Protector

Ideally you need to apply this product as soon after the deckboards are cut to size.  Therefore plan your decking install for a dry day, for best results above 10 degrees centigrade as well.

The product is brush applied, it should only be applied to the exposed cross-cuts on the decking boards.  Stir the tin well before application and make sure the product is applied liberally. Any excess treatment should be wiped from timber faces with a cloth.  After the deckboard ends have dried a second coat should be applied within four hours. The second coat of Decking End grain Protector can then be applied.  I tin covers approx. 9 sq metres., so two coats (recommended) will be a coverage of approx. 4.5 square metres

Cleaning of Brushes etc.

After treatment the brush should be “brushed” on waste timber to remove any excess treatment. Then clean the brush in warm soapy water. Although the product conforms to current environmental standards care must be taken in storage and disposal.  Refer to your local authority for specific ways of getting rid of excess product.
