Our anti-slip yellow Balau deck boards are stored until their moisture level is reduced to a level where they can be machined and fitted with the grit-strip treads. Because these anti-slip decking boards are the same dimensions as the profiled boards they can be used as part of a decking installation on walkways, steps, ramps or balconies. They can of course be used for any other application where a low-slip timber board is required.
These Balau, also known as Bangkirai, deckboards are air dried and untreated which means there will be colour variations from one decking board to the next – this is particularly noticeable when the decking is first laid. Colour differences will reduce while the boards go grey when exposed to the UV rays of natural sunlight. Using pigmented deck oils can also even out any colour differences.
We stock anti-slip, also known as low slip, deckboards to help reduce the potential of slipping on decking installations. All decking boards should receive regular maintenance, the intervals between cleaning will be dictated by the location of the deck – if the decking receives minimal sunlight and is supplied by trees and shrubs then it will need more cleaning.
In higher risk areas, for example steps and changes of deck height levels, the decking design should integrate the careful positioning of these boards to minimise risks of slipping.
Our normal delivery areas are Devon & Cornwall but larger consignments of decking products have been made to developers & contractors in Bristol & Avon, South Wales, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey. These deliveries are normally made by Palletline who will require workmen on site or mechanical offload via a forklift.
