Key Distributor for Millboard in the South West
Millboard Composite Decking is a premium, high-end product with features that justify the price. We have increased our investment in this quality product during the last few years. First of all Southern Timber were appointed in 2016 as the Key Distributor for Millboard in the South West. So that delivery times could be improved the most popular Millboard composite decking products were taken into stock. Most other products from Millboard’s extensive range are normally available within 3-7 working days. While these Millboard products are explained in more detail on the website, this overview is intended to provide brief details on some of these product offerings
Choose your Millboard style
Millboard have developed a choice of three deckboard styles: Enhanced Grain; Weathered and Tactile. Enhanced Grain boards are moulded from smooth wooden board; available in a choice of five colours these boards are popular in contemporary applications. Millboard Weathered boards are available in Driftwood & Vintage shades; they are more traditional and rustic looking. Carbonised boards are a newer innovation, reflecting the Japanese technique where the surface of timber is burnt to produce a traditional styled timber board. All Millboard decking boards have excellent anti-slip credentials, but LastaGrip is the best of the best when a low-slip board is the most important criteria. Finally, we understand that the Tactile range is gradually being phased out but Millboard will still manufacture these boards to order, lead time estimated at 4-6 weeks.
Millboard decking colours
Because of differing design requirements there are several different colour options. Millboard Enhanced Grain boards are available in Burnt Cedar; Golden Oak; Coppered Oak; Jarrah; Limed Oak; Smoked Oak and Brushed Basalt. Similarly Millboard Weathered Oak decking is available in three colours: Vintage Oak, Driftwood or Embered. Finally Millboard Lasta-Grip is available in Coppered Oak and Golden Oak. Also any exposed cut board ends can be concealed by using products from their range of touch up coatings.
Lastane layer
Because all Millboard deckboards feature a top layer of Lastane which provides a very high Anti-Slip surface and also helps to conceal the Durafix stainless steel fixings. For slip resistance these decking ranges have been tested in accordance with the BS79.76 Pendulum Friction Test and the results can be seen in the Product Specification downloads available on this page.
Millboard range of fixtures and fittings
Finally, the finishing details include co-ordinated fascia and edgings for Millboard decking. The fascia boards are 16mm thick and come in 3.2 metre lengths. All edgings are 33mm x 50mm, the standard square and standard bullnose edgings are accompanied by a flexible bullnose edging. Standard edgings are 3.2 metres long, the flexible edgings are supplied in 2.4 metre lengths. All deckboards and trims should be secured with Millboard’s Durafix stainless screw fixings. These Durafix Torx head screws are lubricated and require no pre-drilling and when fitted correctly are almost totally concealed by the Lastane surface layer.
