Scandinavian Redwood Planed Tanalised
We keep a selection of Planed Tanalised timber in stock. These timbers are graded for appearance, they are machined from Scandinavian redwood for quality. For external constructional work they will provide a better finish than sawn, homegrown timber. This could be for fascia, soffits or window and door trims in an extension or summerhouse. Cladding, decking and quality fencing installs all tend to benefit from the use of a planed finish
Planed tanalised Timbers Stocked
Firstly, all of our normal planed stock timbers are pressure treated with Tanalith E timber preservative. Because these timbers are intended for use above the ground layer they should not really be used as any type of retainer or planter. They are ideally suited for where the timber may be subjected to the risk of wetting. It is strongly recommended that any cross cuts are treated with two coats of Ensele end-grain preservative treatment.

Planed timber with rounded edges
We also keep other planed timbers with rounded edges, e.g. ex. 32 x 100, ex. 38 x 125, ex.75 x 75 and ex.100 x 100. Because these are often used in decking installs more information can be found through the links. Finally, remember we also keep stocks of planed, untreated redwood timber.
Pales and fencing materials
Because of increased demand we have introduced a planed ex. 25mm x 50mm timber, ideal for making contemporary bespoke fences. They can be used in projects like the lead image for this page or in conjunction with other widths of planed, tanalised timber.
The PSE 75mm widths are often used for paling applications. Therefore they are normally stocked at 4.5 metres which means they can be cut to 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1800mm lengths with minimal waste. As well as treating the cut ends with Ensele it may be worth using a sawn length of timber as a capping board to provide more protection to the top of the boards. The 100mm width boards have always been popular for “hit and miss” fences so 1.8 metres boards were sourced for this application. Gates can also be made to match this style of fence.
