Tega Engineered Oak
Our Tega Engineered Oak flooring is imported and distributed by Unilin. We have been selling their flooring range for about ten years, a reflection of the faith we have in their products. This Tega flooring utilises new thinner boards to help keep cost down while maintaining product quality. This 10mm thick board is manufactured with a 1.6mm European Oak wear layer with an HDF core and a Spruce back.
Tega flooring appearance
The Oak is graded as a rustic B/C/D, the grade ratios are approximately 20%, 30% and 50% respectively. These grades allow black filled knots and also small repaired splits. Because the softer grain is removed during the brushing process leaving a textured finish to the product. The colour of the heartwood is light brown, sapwood varies between white and cream. Therefore there will be considerable variation between the boards in colour and appearance.
All boards are V grooved on the long edges, this is a B2 bevel. These boards are joined using the Unilin “Uniclic”click fitting system. This floor can either be floated over an underlay or fully stuck down using an elastic adhesive. Therefore we keep Elka Duo Lay flooring underlay and Sika flooring adhesives in stock.
The product is sold in 1820mm long packs which will have eight layers of boards, up to 30% of which will be starter boards. These starter boards will be a minimum of 600mm. Each pack contains 2.766 square metres of flooring.
This Tega Engineered Oak flooring has a 20 year structural and 1 year finish guarantee. These boards are intended for use around the home but are not designed for installation or use in the bathroom.
To maintain your Elka engineered floor, we recommend using the Elka Oil maintenance kit.
