Herringbone Struts
Firstly Herringbone struts are fixed diagonally between joists from the top of one joist to the bottom of the next. Secondly herringbone struts help to reduce flexing and twisting of the joists. Therefore makes the timber frame much more rigid. Herringbone struts give superior bracing strength over traditional slow and costly timber noggins. Use screws or nails to fix them in places although square twist nails are most common.
