Sanctuary Cabin

Firstly, the Rowlinson Sanctuary cabin is a contemporary style garden building.    This Sanctuary log cabin is supplied untreated and must therefore be protected with a 2 coat wood preservative before assembly begins.  However, please note that the base frame timbers are already pressure treated against rot.

Building’s Construction

This contemporary design features a mono-pitch roof, two lockable doors  and four windows. The cabin walls are built using 28mm thick tongue and groove boards and the framing is described by Rowlinson as “heavy duty”.  Both the roof and floor are constructed with 19mm tongue and groove timber boards.

It is vitally important that the building is placed on the pressure treated bearers to ensure the timbers are not in ground contact.   More details of assembly and siting can be found  in the building assembly instructions. The building is supplied with mineral felt for the pitched roof.  All Both of the windows and the double doors are glazed with toughened glass.

Sanctuary Cabin (LBSSAN) Dimensions

The external height of this Sanctuary Cabin is 2490mm, with a width of 4400mm and a depth of 3400mm Meanwhile the footprint of the Sanctuary is 3800mm in width combined  with a depth of 3000mm. Finally, the door opening height is 1930mm with a width of 1235mm

Supplied Finish and Painting

This timber building is supplied unstained and must be carefully treated with a primer, then two further coats of water resistant treatment.  The primer and one coat of external wood preservative should be applied before the cabin is assembled.   Rowlinson’s also recommend that a suitable wood preservative is applied to both sides of the floor before assembly. Ensure your chosen finish is suitable for use with planed (as opposed to sawn) timber.
