Premium 6×4 Shed from Forest Garden

This Premium 6×4 Shed is one of Forest Garden’s tanalised Tongue and groove range of garden buildings. Compact in size but functional, this wooden shed will accommodate a selection of garden tools.  Similarly the shed could be used as a small practical workshop. Buildings Construction

Firstly, this shed’s sides are clad with tanalised 12mm tongue & grooved (T&G) cladding. These T&G boards are planed smooth and clad horizontally. This sheds timbers are pressure treated with Green tanalith-E preservative, these timbers will change colour over time until they become grey which is perfectly normal. The shed has a single door which is double Z braced for extra strength. The door is fitted with a pad bolt and the door hinges are also hidden for improved security.  There is one opening 3mm acrylic window (approx. 620mm x 500mm) – the opening window is ideal for improved air circulation.

Next, the shed is constructed the traditional way with a 12mm T&G floor and roof.  All internal framing is 45mm x 20mm and the building is made of sections for the customer to assemble.  The shed is manufactured from FSC certified timber from sustainable sources This shed needs two people for assembly and weighs approximately 140kg.

The floor bearers are also pressure treated. Above all it is vitally important that this timber building is placed on pressure treated bearers to ensure the shed’s timbers are not in ground contact. More details are in the enclosed assembly instructions.  Finally the building is now supplied with red mineral felt for the apex roof.

Delivery and Garden Building Installation

All Forest Garden sheds are delivered to kerbside and in flat pack format for customer assembly. Therefore each product is supplied with detailed Assembly Instructions. They can also be downloaded from this page in PDF format.

Adequate provision must be made to avoid ground contact and ensure air can circulate underneath the building. Placing the building on a concrete pad or slab base is acceptable provided that the shed is not allowed to sit in pooled water during wet conditions. Therefore, if the building is to sit on soil or grass it MUST be erected on pressure treated wooden 50mm x 50mm or similar bearers (These are not supplied in the kit).

All Forest Garden’s Products are supplied direct from their Warehouse in Worcestershire.  Therefore these Premium Sheds are not available for collection from our Devon premises.
