Tanalised Structural Timber remains a popular choice for building projects. Timber combines a high strength-to-weight ratio and is relatively easy to cut and fix. Timber also possesses better environmental credentials than steel and concrete.
Most house builds, extensions and loft conversions need a mix of regularised and pressure treated timber to complete the project. Southern Timber are ideally located between Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay to supply imported Scandinavian C16 & C24 structurally graded timbers. Section sizes in stock includes a range of 75mm timber and most timber sections are stocked up to 6.0 metres in length. Other bespoke timber sections can be sourced, tanalised if required and then graded by one of our Trada registered softwood timber graders.
Occasionally a build will need something a little different, possibly glulams where an exposed timber of larger cross section is required. We also supply large sections of home grown Douglas Fir and Larch for exposed timber framing and trusses. European green oak is also available and always popular when renovating older stone buildings.
