Softwood Sleepers

Landscaping with softwood and oak sleepers.

Timber garden sleepers are substantial in size (100 x 200 @ 2.4 metres) and lend themselves to construction projects around the house and garden. Think raised beds, retainers and garden steps. Please note we don’t sell recycled or railway sleepers.

These sleepers weigh in, on average, at 31kg. Sourced from UK grown timber and certified as FSC Mix along with our other softwood sleepers. Although treated for exterior use they are not treated for ground contact, and we wouldn’t expect them to last as long as oak.

These sleepers weigh in at 36kg. These sleepers are sourced from UK grown timber. The key to UC4 is that specialised incising machinery leads to deeper penetration for the preservative. Not only should this provide a longer service life but also our UC4 products can be used in ground contact for a minimum warranty service life of 15 Years.

A larger cross-section version of the first sleeper. Sleepers, if cross-cut to small sizes should be treated with an end-grain preservative such as Ronseal End Grain Protector.  

Finally, stock and delivery

Most of our deliveries are made to Devon and Cornwall by our own transport. Sleepers, because of their size, they do not lend themselves to being transported across the country by Courier.
