Agricultural fencing normally involves a choice between round posts, fence rails and wire, or alternatively square posts with rails. Smaller ventures and small-holdings tend to use the square posts and 38mm rails

Round Posts and Wire fencing

We keep good stocks of round posts, mainly 73mm, 88mm and 106mm. Post heights are

1.65m, 1.8m and 2.4 metres. Straining posts, 128mm at 2.1 metres, and fencing struts, 75mm at 2.1 metres, are also stocked. Most round posts are UC4i graded with incisions allowing greater preservative penetration. Purchasing customers have to register for the Manufacturers 15-year service life warranty on these UC4i posts.

In terms of wire fencing, we keep stock fencing wire in mild steel and high-tensile options. Barbed wire and plain wire are also stocked items. Other stock fencing products are available to order.

Post and Rail fencing

Post and rail fences are good for larger livestock, this is usually a simpler fence without wire. Typically, these fences use 75mm x 125mm square edged posts with 4 square rails. Alternatively round posts can be used with 100mm half-round rails. These rails are relatively light in weight, low in price and the flat side of the rail provides a good fix to the post. When using large UC3 posts and needing an extended service life then check our bitumen based Wrap & Tack which provide extra longevity.
