Galvanised Hunting Gate Latch

The Hunting Gate Latch is similar to the Farm Auto Latch but has the addition of a long lever arm.  This allows the latch to be operated without getting off a horse,quad bike or similar. This heavy duty latch is fully galvanised and because of its narrow back plate you are able to install it on both round and square posts.  This style of gate lacth is commonly used on a field gate or driveway gate.

The latch can be purchased separately or with a striker, so that you can select the style of striker that suits you individual needs.  We stock a single bar striker or a ‘horse safe’ double legged striker also available separately.  The double leg striker should be installed in the vertical position on the opening end of the gate and in a situation where the gate closes onto the face of the post not into the opening between the posts.  This would require a different style of latch all together.

We would recommend coach screws for installation on timber posts and Multi-fix bolts for concrete or brick.
