Millboard Decking Fascia – the finishing touches

Millboard look at all the potential stages of a decking installation and examine any products that can help produce a ”high-end” result. One example is where Millboard have produce a decking fascia which will help to provide a professional looking finish.  They have developed composite decking fascia boards to complement each decking installation with options for each Millboard colour.

Fascia boards are used under the decking or edging profiles to cover the sides of the subframe. Millboard fascias they will bend to a radius of 1.2m (at 20°c) and need to be fixed with two Durafix 4.5x35mm screws at 300mm centres.

Millboard Fascias

Co-ordinated Millboard fascia boards are available for all Millboard deck colours. The standard fascia boards are 146mm deep, 16mm thick and they are produced in 3.62 metre lengths.  All deckboards and trims can be secured with Millboard’s Durafix stainless screw fixings, these Torx head screws are lubricated and require no pre-drilling and when fixed correctly are almost hidden by the Lastane coating layer.

The following colour fascias are designed to coordinate of complement the 8 Millboard coloured boards.  The colour options are as follows:

Jarrah;
Embered;
Driftwood/Smoked Oak
Limed Oak;
Vintage;
Golden Oak;
Coppered Oak;
Brushed Basalt.

Concealing the cuts

Finally, for concealing any exposed cut board ends during installation we would recommend using Millboard fascia wherever possible.  However if this isn’t possible, or if there is slight damage during installation, there is also a range of Millboard Touch Up coatings as well.

Fascia boards are used under the decking or edging profiles to cover the sides of the subframe. Millboard fascias they will bend to a radius of 1.2m (at 20°c) and need to be fixed with two Durafix 4.5x35mm screws at 300mm centres. When two fascia boards meet along the deck, these should be jointed together on a 22.5˚ angle back cut so that one piece slides under the other. The upward facing cut should be painted with touch-up coating prior to being installed and should not be glued.  If a fascia joint finishes on a curve, the boards should be joined on a 45˚ angle and glued together prior to being fitted in place. Take care to support the glued joint while bending it

The fascia board helps keep your decking subframe hidden and edges looking seamless. Please note that the fascia-board is only manufactured in “Enhanced grain” style finishes. More details in the attached Millboard Installation Guide
