This Avon Garden Arch is made in the UK. Because quality is important all the timber used is quality kiln dried Scandinavian redwood. The timber components are machined and treated with preservative on the same manufacturing site. Because Hutton use modular designs and components it helps to provide a uniform product range. Joinery quality timber & Tanalith treatment
Firstly, the Avon Garden Arch is made in the UK by a manufacturing group that was established in 1970. The group imports and processes timbers from well managed forests. After the redwood sections are machined they are then pressure treated in batches with Tanalith-E wood preservative. This treatment helps protect the timber against decay and fungal attack and provides an increased service life when compared to products made with standard dip treatment.
Functionality and style
The Avon Arch uses planed timber throughout, the archway providing an attractive access through hedges or fencing. The uprights are topped with two rails and cross-timbers. We also carry planed square posts machined from 75mm timbers that match the uprights if required.
The height of the arch is 2.4 metres and 1510mm in width. Please note the overall height of the arch includes 400m for inserting into the ground. Depth of the arch is 740mm with a weight of 36 kg.
Value for money
When comparing products it is advisable to check the product’s specification as well as price. Cheaper products may be available but they are often of lower quality using dipped whitewood and made overseas.
Looking after your Avon Garden Arch
All of our Hutton garden furniture is pressure treated to help protect the timber against decay and fungal attack. This pressure treatment, Tanalith E, starts as a light green but changes to a light honey brown. After between 18 to 24 months the colour changes to a grey colour.
Colours can be maintained and enhanced where required by using Osmo UV protection oils or other wood stains. However, if the timber goes grey the timber appearance can be rejuvenated with Osmo gels.
Delivery and assembly
At Southern Timber we offer a kerbside delivery through the Torbay, Teignbridge, Exeter, South Hams and Plymouth areas. While delivery is usually free, some may be chargeable depending on the delivery location and the total order value. Finally, our garden furniture is normally supplied flat packed, each item being supplied with fixings and assembly instructions
