Digging holes to receive posts

Post holes should ideally be of a narrow diameter and approx. 450mm deep.  Dig a hole to the required size for post, half fill the hole with water and place the post in the hole.  This must be the factory “treated end” and must not have been cross-cut.

The quick-setting postcrete material is already pre-mixed in the bag.  Because there is no need for mixing it can be emptied straight from the bag into the hole.

Add the Remix Post Mix Concrete uniformly around the post, until it is above the level of water. If any dry powder remains visible at this stage, add additional water until absorbed by the material. Try to shape the top of  the quick-setting postcrete so that any water runs away from the posts – you do not want water settling around the post where it enters the ground

Getting, and setting, vertical posts

Adjust the fence or decking post into position and support appropriately until material set occurs, after approximately 10 minutes.  The Timco 125mm Post Level is ideal for these fine adjustments

After Laying

Once the concrete has set, cover with earth, grass or decorative aggregate, as required.
