The Forest Garden Melbury Cabin is a contemporary designed cabin, manufactured using 34mm planed interlocking logs. This log cabin has a compact footprint, ideal for when garden space is at a premium. The Melbury cabin features single glazing with double doors, two fixed and one opening window. A Double Glazed Melbury option is also available

Forest Garden Melbury Cabin Construction

The Melbury Log Cabin from Forest is big enough to offer several different uses despite having a relatively small footprint. With a 4m x 3m footprint returning 10 square metres (108 square feet) of internal floor space this model is big enough to be used as a two-desk office, a generous hobby room or gym. When required for relaxation it could even accommodate a sofa suite and TV table or a dining table and chairs. Its pent roof design is unobtrusive, stylish and gives it a modern look.

The specification of the Melbury includes 34mm machined, interlocking logs for the walls, 19mm Tongue & Groove boards for the roof and floor. This option includes single glazed toughened glass window and doors. The glazed doors, fixed front windows and double side window provide plenty of natural light. The opening side window can be built into either side of the cabin. The double doors have a mortise locking system. Different felt roof options are also available.

This model option is single glazed all round with a 24kg weight Polyester felted roof. The felt has a polyester fibre base layer that makes it much stronger and more tear resistant than non-polyester grades. With more than twice the tear resistance of conventional mineral felt it has a life expectancy of up to 15 years when fitted correctly.

With the flexibility this garden building offers and the specification options available it’s easy to see why the Melbury is one of Forest’s most popular models.

All deliveries are made by vehicles with a crane off-load facility. The log cabin must be built upon a solid and level surface such as a poured concrete base.

Supplied Finish & Painting

All the timber in this Log Cabin has been kiln dried to minimise warping and splitting. The floor bearers are also pressure treated with an Osmose timber preservative. The rest of the structure is supplied untreated therefore allowing the customer to choose their preferred brand and colours. We stock Osmo, Liberon and Ronseal products to treat products accordingly. When selecting your timber treatment finish you will find some low-priced finishes are for sawn timber only. Therefore please ensure your chosen finish is suitable for use with planed and/or sawn timber where required

Delivery & Assembly

You should receive a welcome pack direct from Forest Garden 3 to 10 days after the order has been placed.

The Log Cabins are delivered to kerbside and in flat pack format for the customer to assemble. If assembling yourself all buildings are supplied with detailed Assembly Instructions which can also be downloaded from this page in PDF format.

If you have chosen the installation option this is generally arranged for 3-4 days after delivery and is arranged through Forest Garden. Their nationwide service is conducted by trained Forest installation teams at an agreed time. Look out for the assembly rates for each building. However, please note their service is assembly only and does not include laying bases, dismantling or disposal of existing buildings.

Stock Availability

Finally all these Forest Garden Log cabins are delivered free from their Worcestershire Warehouse, or haulier’s depots direct to the customer’s preferred UK Mainland address. Therefore no Forest Garden Log Cabins are available for collection from our Devon premises.
