HardiePlank Cladding is a nominally 8 mm thick fibre cement plank which is designed as external cladding for both residential and commercial buildings. To get the full benefits of this product it is essential to use the correct accessories. Each board is 3600mm long with a depth of 180mm, allowing for a 30mm lap this gives a cover of 150mm.
HardiePlank® cladding is a colourful and versatile weatherboard that offers the texture and natural beauty of timber while delivering the maintenance-free durability of fibre cement. Flexibility and freedom of design is possible because HardiePlank (depending on cladding type) can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally. This makes it suitable for multi-dwelling developments or regionally clad traditional styles.
The stunning appearance of HardiePlank® cladding is enriched by two available textures, cedar and smooth. This enables you to achieve just the right textural effect for your design. At Southern Timber we stock the cedar texture planking in 21 colours but smooth boards are special order only.
Sealed, primed and painted in the factory with the exclusive ColourPlus® coating. JamesHardie HardiePlank® cladding is available in 21 different colours, so it arrives at your building site with no need for onsite painting.
Hardie’s range of Cool Colours includes Evening Blue, Boothbay Blue, Light Mist and Arctic White.
Installing HardiePlank® cladding is a quick and easy process. It is faster than cutting wood, especially when cutting plank with the HardieGuillotine™ or HardieBlade®. The 15-year limited warranty guarantees that, unlike wood, HardiePlank® cladding will stay looking good year after year. It stands up to the toughest weather conditions without cracking, peeling or chipping. It also resists scratches, fire and vermin damage. The cladding should be checked every year for any signs of damage.
