Rowlinson Narrow Log Store – Style & Appearance
The Rowlinson Narrow Log Store has a compact footprint to provide log storage in confined places. Drying and keeping your logs comes through good air circulation. To ensure proper drying means firewood should be stored in a well ventilated log store. Therefore storage in a shed or stacking logs on the ground and covering the log pile with a tarpaulin is bad practice. It traps moisture under the tarpaulin and encourages mould and decay to spread in the logs fast. The Narrow Log Store provides storage in the smaller garden and provides a plenty of air circulation.
This garden storage item is constructed with sawn timber. There are spaces between the horizontal slats to allow good air circulation for the stored logs. The base of the Narrow Log Store is designed to reduce the chances of ground contact for the logs. This will help to keep the logs clean and also minimise the logs from absorbing moisture from ground contact. The logs should ideally be stacked in rows to help the air circulate around the individual logs. Piles are best kept slightly apart where possible for the same reason.
Narrow Log Store Dimensions
Approximate dimensions are – Height: 1560mm, Width: 620mm, Depth: 560mm. More details can be found in the PDF Assembly Instructions available on this page as a download. Finally, when locating the log store try and keep some distance between the product and walls, fences and hedges. Don’t reduce the air circulating around this storage item.
This timber log store is pressure treated with a wood preservative to help protect against rot. This preservative won’t repel water however. Most timber stains contain a water repellent. After rain showers the water will collect on the timber’s surface and it can be brushed clean and dry. We stock Osmo woodstains and other products from Ronseal if you need to put a little more zest into the logstore. Finally, if space isn’t an issue and you want a contemporary log store try the Heritage Log Store also from Rowlinsons.
