About JamesHardie External Corners
These JamesHardie External Corners are manufactured from high quality coated aluminium. Using James Hardie internal and external corners helps to produce a more professional finish. These MetalTrim™ corners can be easily cut using a hacksaw or chop saw with a metal blade. The External Corners are available in all 21 current HardiePlank® cladding colours in 3.0 metre lengths.
Please note that JamesHardie MetalTrim corner profiles can only be installed vertically. The MetalTrim should be cut with a suitable saw or shears, all cuts must be clean and straight. Care should be taken when cutting so that the trim is not damaged.
Installing JamesHardie External Corners
The Hardie trims should be secured with stainless steel nails, the nail heads should be flush. It is important that the nails are not over-driven or under-driven.
When these metal trims are joined together care must be taken to align them correctly before fixing. This is because in cases of extreme sun exposure there is the possibility of thermal expansion. For best results when fixing the trim, fix the trim at the top first, then the base then fix at remaining locations. The maximum recommended spacing for these fixings is 1.5 metres.
When installation is completed the protective plastic film cover should be removed immediately. Otherwise it will become trapped behind the cladding and be difficult to remove. In the event of any chipped metal trims during fixing then use the corresponding James Hardie Edge Colour to rectify.
