Shiplap Shed Range

Many properties have a need for extra storage space. Where space is at a premium, the focus is usually on compact sheds, 4’ x 4’: 6’x 4’ and 8’ x 6’. These sizes have proved very popular and Rowlinson Garden Products introduced out 5 new shiplap models in April 2024. This Rowlinson 8x6 Apex Shed is a very handy outdoor building with nearly 8 cubic metres of storage space for storage. The double doors and considerable internal height provide easy access to the inside.

Construction features

The sturdy frame is clad in with 12mm shiplap, cut from European timber and kiln-dried for added strength and stability. The Interlocking tongue and groove shiplap profile boards are aesthetically pleasing and also provide a weatherproof barrier.

Timber used in conctruction is pressure treated to help prevent the ingress of water and wind, but an annual coat of waterproof stain or paint would help further. The pressure treatment provides long lasting preservation from rot and insect attack.

Both doors are T&G clad and double ‘Z’ braced for increased rigidity. All the timber used in this building is sustainably sourced and meets with current environment legislation.

The OSB used for the floor and roof should not be confused with cheap chipboard. Used in the construction industry, OSB offers superior structural integrity that avoids warping even under extreme humidity or dryness. In many ways better than solid timber for these applications.

The robust steel hinges are bright zinc coated for longevity against corrosion, while the included heavy-duty pad bolt (Pad lock not included) keeps the unit secure. The building is topped off with a quality mineral roofing felt, giving it protection from the elements.
