Featheredge boards and lengths
Without going into too much detail we thought we would answwer some typical issues with featheredge boards, or are they featheredge slats? To add to the confusion they are also known as closeboarding. Featheredge is a traditional board commonly used in agricultral buildings. Normal sized lengths are:
125mm width at 1.2m, 1.65m and 1.8 metres;
150mm width at 1.05m, 1.2m, 1.65m, 1.8m, 2.4m, 3.0m and 3.6 metres;
175mm width at 4.8 metres.
What overlap for the boards?
We keep in stock 125mm, 1S0mm and 175mm sawn featheredge boards. The 125mm are intended to be used in fencing applications, the 150mm are available 2.4m/3.0m and 3.6 metre lengths making them more suitable for cladding garden sheds, workshops, field shelets and other similar outdoor buildings. Our 175mm featheredge is cut from thicker blanks and normally available in 4.8 metre lengths.
