Transport for Fibre Cement products

Our business has evolved over the last few years and we are enjoying increased demand for cladding products.  James Hardie supply a range of fibre cement cladding, aluminium trims and speciailist fittings including coloured paint and colour head stainless screws. We also get requests from all over the UK for Hardie's Geckgo Gauges, Circular Saw Blades and Guillotines.  Transport has traditionally been a challenge but we are finding more cost-effective ways of moving products around Mainland UK.

It is coming to that time of year again, shorter and colder days and not so much to do in the garden. Why not take the autumn/winter slowdown for organising storage around the garden and utility areas. To make life easier we have pulled together what we think might be useful.

Log Storage

The options for log storage have already been covered in a posting, see log storage where we have listed offerings from Rowlinson Garden Products, Forest Gardens and Huttons.  Rowlinsons and Forest Garden both offer free delivery on most items to Mainland UK addresses. There are a few exclusions for some remote areas. 

These items are delivered direct from the manufacturer to the door, lead time is normally 7-14 days.  For more local Devon and Cornwall customers we have log stores from the Gloucestershire based Huttons.  There is normally

Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 30th September 2022

Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause.  One in two of us will face cancer, and the money you help us raise at our Coffee Morning will help people with cancer to live life as fully as they can.

Our colleagues make platefuls of delicious cakes and biscuits topped up with a few savoury treats as well. You can wash your snack down with a cup of tea or coffee as well. We run our Macmillan fundraiser event for as long as we are open on the Friday, that means you will have chance to share something with us from 7.30am onwards.

Although we are based in Devon our flooring deliveries can be made to most Mainland UK addresses. Our Hauliers indicate a 2-5 working day lead time for flooring deliveries in most of England, Scotland and Wales. Offshire Islands such as the Isle-of-Wight; the Isle-of-Man and the Scottish Highlands & Islands generally take a few days more.

Namgrass Delivery Information

 Our artificial grass is manufactured by Namgrass in Belgium. It is supplied cut off a 2 metre or 4 metre roll depending on customers requirement.

Some products that we sell are difficult to purchase elsewhere and give us a price advantage. In the case of HardiePlank and other Hardie products we keep every current colour in stock, but other merchants such as Travis Perkins & Jewsons don’t. Therefore they have to order these specific products in from Hardies (distribution based in Eastleigh, Southampton) with both extra cost implications and longer lead times. Other specialised products that may be viable to send via the Pallet network include bead & butt cladding, pitch pine flooring and Millboard deckboards.

We try to keep all HardiePlank, trims and Hardie VL items in stock.  A typical web order will be between 40 and 200 boards, and we can deliver to most parts of Devon & Cornwall using our own transport. From garden sheds and picnic benches their ranges have expanded and now include a large range of products to help make gardens a more relaxing, and enjoyable, place to be. These products enjoy free delivery to most parts of the UK, more details are listed below.

Delivery Areas and Charges

Most of our deliveries are made free of charge, but inevitably some deliveries will incur a modest delivery charge of £18 or £30.  We operate a zonal delivery service and deliver to most local areas five times a week. Post Codes for deliveries are essential, any other additional directions are also welcomed. While our main delivery area is the South West of England we also deliver via a Pallet network, prices starting at £147.20 including VAT.  More details can be found on our Delivery Areas page.

DX Carriers Overview

DX Freight occupy the middle ground between the Parcelforce and Pallet delivery services.  We use them for deliveries from our stock in South Devon. They are very useful Carrier because they will take parcels of up to 6.0 metres in length.

Benefits of the DX  Carrier service

Each DX consignment may consist of several different parcels but each parcel, including packaging, must be 30 kg or less.
