Tanalised sheds remain our preferred option within garden buildings. Our Premier tanalised sheds are made in the Forest of Dean and popular sizes are available from stock. 

Premier tanalised sheds

The Premier garden sheds use Tanalith-E preservatives and planed redwood timber.  This helps improve the product service life and  the Manufacturer offers a 15 Year Treat-Right Performance Warranty. All sheds should be placed on UC4 pressure treated timbers to avoid the shed coming into ground contact.  Applying a water repellent stain (or paint) will help to keep the inside of the shed dry.

Stock availability

Tanalised sheds are kept in our Devon yard for delivery to most parts of Devon and Cornwall. Most are delivered free of charge but we do request an able bodied person to help offload.  Normally all the sheds are available from stock except the two Oxford sheds. First of all Kid’s Playhouses from the Rowlinsons range of child’s play houses, lodges and cottages provide a variety of safe play settings.  So, with a reasonable investment in a playhouse the kids can be outdoors and enjoy creative play in the family garden. All these well designed timber buildings are available for direct delivery straight from the manufacturer.  We will be adding models from the Forest Garden Products range during the early summer of 2022. Most of Mainland UK enjoys free delivery but some outlying areas may have to pay an extra £25 or £50 delivery.

Featheredge boards and lengths

Without going into too much detail we thought we would answer some typical issues with featheredge boards, or are they featheredge slats?  To add to the confusion they are also known as closeboarding. Featheredge is a traditional board commonly used in agricultural buildings.  Normal-sized lengths are:

125mm width at 1.2m, 1.65m and 1.8 metres;

150mm width at 1.05m, 1.2m, 1.65m, 1.8m, 2.4m, 3.0m and 3.6 metres;

175mm width at 4.8 metres.

What overlap for the boards?

We keep in stock 125mm, 1S0mm and 175mm sawn featheredge boards.  The 125mm are intended to be used in fencing applications, the 150mm are available 2.4m/3.0m and 3.6 metre lengths making them more suitable for cladding garden sheds, workshops, field shelets and other similar outdoor buildings. Our 175mm featheredge is cut from thicker blanks and normally available in 4.8 metre lengths.
